Easy Top!

This top was super easy to make and really quick. It is definitely something for a beginner to try. Just start by cutting out the basic shape (shown below) from a folded piece of fabric. That way you have your front and back cut out at the same time. Make the front neck line a little bit lower than the back if you like.

Just attach the two pieces together, right sides facing each other and then hem the edges left over. And you're done! :)

Festive Fourth of July Tops!

Happy Fourth of July, everyone! Devon and I both wore crop tops yesterday for the holiday. Devon made hers from a tank top she already had. By cutting it at the length she wanted and then hemming it she created a striped crop top in 2 easy steps! For my crop top, I got sheer star fabric from JoAnns and sewed together the 3 pieces; 1 for the front and 2 back pieces that fan over each other. Make sure that whenever you create a top from sheer fabric, or any fabric that doesn't stretch a lot, that you make it wide enough to get over your head! ;) (unless you use buttons, a zipper, or elastic of course)
