Easy Top!

This top was super easy to make and really quick. It is definitely something for a beginner to try. Just start by cutting out the basic shape (shown below) from a folded piece of fabric. That way you have your front and back cut out at the same time. Make the front neck line a little bit lower than the back if you like.

Just attach the two pieces together, right sides facing each other and then hem the edges left over. And you're done! :)

Boat Neck Top

This low boat neck top is super easy to make. The shape is a square, with the neck cut out of the top and then instead of sewing the side seem all the way up, just sew it half the way up for the big sleeve effect. Works well with sheer fabric like the one I used from JoAnns. The total cost for the top was only $3.50 after using a 50% coupon! It looks great worn with a belt or left loose like shown on the dress form. Devon found the idea for this top from a Poketo top that is $29.

Tie Top!

This is another easy top for beginners to make. Just make the body of the shirt the shape of a rectangle, fold over the top portion of the shirt to create a loop for the tie to go through, and then tie a bow! The material for this one is a somewhat sheer polyester & silk blend and was bought at JoAnns.
